The dreading Corona Virus... Lets Talk

Now I know it is and can be a touchy subject to talk on but everyone has gone through a lot this year and who would've thought that 2020 would have turned out the way it has...

You see when the whole corona virus was starting to spread around on the news and world, I was just starting a new job with a big company covering for their in house photographer; in mind this job was only a few months contract for about 4 months and it was so exciting to start in a new company, learn new skills and meet new people. I worked in the offices for about one month before lockdown began and once it did we had to work from home, which one I am grateful for as I got to spend the last few moments with my beloved, handsome dog Shadow who sadly had to be put to sleep due to cancer.

So by now its been a whirlwind of emotions, from starting a new job, my beloved dog passing into the new world, not being able to see my grandmother and worrying about her health and wellbeing.

My job sadly came to an end due to my colleague not going on his annual leave, so the company didn't need me anymore and for once I was fine with this knowing I wasn't going to have a job and I think this is because i knew i had enough savings behind me to help me but also mainly because I knew i was going to have more time to spend working on my equine photography, my website and more, plus not just that I guess I was really excited to find out i was going to be a mum to 13 beautiful guinea fowl chicks.

So a couple months pass by. I have raised my baby guinea fowls with the help of my lovely chicken, I found out that my grandmother is still very well and healthy, and that she is the one patient in the care home to have not caught covid-19 (yet, and hopefully she never wont) and I start to working more on my equine photography, i get to go on the amazing opportunity on a workshop with Amy lathrope to learn all about the techniques, skills and tips on equine photography.

Now we are here 7-8 months down the line, we are in our second lockdown and well nothing has changed. Cases are getting bigger and we might possibly have a vaccine, I have only lost two of my baby guinea fowls to Mr fox as they are free roaming/wild and my grandmother is still with us.

Despite how much 2020 has been such a shocking, emotional, whirlwind and quite frankly a crap year, there has been so much to learn from it! Keep the ones you love the most close to you and tell them you love them everyday, wash your hands, be appreciative that you're here another day and that you have the families and friends here to support you and you to support them; to do the things you have always wanted to do and try, take up the hobbies you have always wanted to try or re-ignite and most of all take time for yourself, yes things might not go the way you wanted them too or 2020 should've been the year for you to start your dreams and it didn't...but dont let this hold you back, you still have time, you can still do and achieve the goals and dreams you want. Just love yourself, the others around you and stay safe!
